Gag

18 weeks, yea!  I feel like I can't hide it anymore.  Not that I really ever tried to hide it, but it didn't really look like a baby belly until now.  It looked like the, "Oh, she gained 10 pounds" belly.  But now, I think it has rounded out to look more like there's a baby inside there.  It still might not be totally obvious to people who don't know me, but I feel like it's obvious.

I've tried to eat healthy my whole life.  I limit the junk and don't drink soda, except an occasional Coke or Pepsi.  But with this pregnancy, it has been so hard!  I've mentioned it before, but it has been so much worse lately.

Take yesterday for example.  I was doing some cleaning and the kids were playing really nicely so I didn't want to stop.  But, I was getting really hungry, like to the point of almost being shaky, so I knew I needed to eat something.  Jaxon asked for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich so I decided that's what I'd eat too.  As I sat down and took the first bite, I gagged.  I spit it out, told myself to stop and just eat.  I was starving and needed to eat.  I tried for a second bite, but gagged again.  It drives me crazy!  I just want to eat for Pete's sake!  I try to mentally prepare myself (because I believe that the mind has so much power over the body) and control the gagging, but I can't!  It's not working!

A few minutes ago I tried eating a banana, but couldn't choke it down.  I opened the fridge and freezer to find something.  I spotted the Rocky Road.  That went down just fine!  And, I scarfed down Barros pizza and wings without a hitch a few nights ago.  What's the deal?  Why do I gag on the healthy stuff and crave the junk?  It's totally not my usual diet and I don't feel good when I eat junk.  (I'm usually fine with fruits...peaches, grapes, berries.  Usually it's the veggies I been having trouble with.)  My poor little baby is going to be lacking healthy vitamins and minerals!  I was so good at eating healthy with Jaxon and Henry.

Also, I am in desperate need of exercise!  I need those endorphins.  My body was so used to high does of natural feel good chemicals before I got pregnant, so now, I am so moody!  I get annoyed for no reason and then I get annoyed at myself for being annoyed!  I get impatient with Jaxon and his 4,597 outfits he likes to wear in a day.  I get in bad moods for no reason.  Sometimes, I get sassy with Devin (well, that's not that abnormal).  What's abnormal about it is I do it when he's just trying to be helpful.  I don't like it.  I was not a crazy person with my other pregnancies.  This one is really different.

Any helpful suggestions?  Any at all?

I can't eat any healthy food either! Except salad. I'm ususally safe with a plain salad (meaning, lettuce and crutons). But any fruit or vegetable I try makes me sick. Except grapefruit. That's been okay.

I"m sorry, that sounds awful!! I agree with you, most of it is in your head. I think some pregnant women think too much about their nauseousness. Most of the time if you just drink some water you feel better. Though not all the time. I found that when I felt like gagging, I would smell cinnamon. It was the best thing ever!!! Helped a ton!!

Well you know how healthy I am:) So I probably shouldn't lend any advice.. BUT since you are so healthy in general I wouldn't worry too much! I've never been a very healthy eater, and though I tried a little harder with Dylan then I had before I was still no where near as healthy as you and Dylan couldn't have been healthier when he was born! I've also done way worse with this pregnancy and so far this baby is growing and developing perfectly! Obviously eating better is better but I always heard the baby is getting everything it needs, it is more you that is getting deprived! That's what prenatals are for!!!
As for exercising that sucks:( Maybe that's partially why healthy foods are harder to choke down, always easier for me to eat better when I work out! Hopefully soon everything will be ok and you'll get the go ahead to work out!! can you treadmill/swim yet? I'm so surprised it's not a girl with how different it is!.. woah sorry for the long comment:)

i became insanely crazy with my 3rd pregnancy, my hubby and girls have had to deal with alot but it does get better as the pregnancy progresses. exercising has been extremely helpful in making me more sane. seperate yourself from your family when you feel craziness aproaching, good luck, i do feel your pain.

I couldn't keep anything down, and the junk food stayed down for a little bit longer, but then came up anyways. The doctors said, just stop worrying about what you are eating and relax. Listen to your body, if it says I need french fries, go eat some, just not a lot. Watch the amounts. The baby will get everything it needs...they take all the healthy from you. He will be just fine. Exercising I was told not to do until I could not throw up for 1 week because I was so high risk... i hated it. Swimming was so good though, and didn't get me hot and sick. Also, I loved stretching-it relieved so many aches and pains. (be careful and don't push the stretches)

Pictures! Pictures! I love seeing prego belly pictures. Don't stress about exercising... Maybe go for walks in the morning at the mall before it opens (since no matter how early it is, will it ever be comfortable outside in the summer). That's what I plan on doing.. I've seen lots of ladies do it. I've been eating junk too but I can't get enough fruit either. I've never been a big veggie person anyway.. I wish I was better help (;

I agree that you should just do the best you can and don't give yourself a guilt trip. The baby will be completely fine and probably loves the ice cream as much as you do. :)
