Caramel Apples

The boys have been watching Enchanted and since Giselle eats a caramel apple they wanted to make some.
Henry ended up running around while Jaxon did all the work!
All done!  We ate a little bit of the caramel, but ended up peeling it off to eat the apples!  It was a fun project to do with little Jaxon.

Look Alike

We recently got Despicable Me from Netflix and watched it.  It was super cute and funny too.
Then I saw this picture I took of Oliver and immediately thought that with this face, he looked like Gru.  Only like five thousand times cuter.  Do you think they look alike?

Stop Worrying

The boys were watching the previews before Finding Nemo started and Henry kept asking, "Nemo?  Nemo?  Nemo?"

Jaxon must have been tired of it because he said, "Yes, Nemo's coming.  Stop worrying about it."

And at Granny's house, Jaxon wrote his name with the spaghetti noodles.

They are so fun together (most of the time).  They do fight, but usually play so well together.  It will be interesting to add another to the mix!

Tongues & Toys

As we were leaving church yesterday, the primary music director stopped Devin and me and told us that Jaxon was starting to sing.  I was surprised because he always sings the primary songs at home, but I guess he didn't sing them at church...  Anyway, she was excited he was singing and said he was so cute.  Then she went on to tell us that during one of the songs she was looking at Jaxon and saw this:  He held his Book of Mormon in front of his face, stuck his tongue out, and licked it with one swipe from the bottom to the top!  It was so funny!  Where would he get the idea to lick his Book of Mormon?  She said everyone got a good laugh and that he was so cute!

I got the Toy Story 3 book to read to the boys.  In the beginning, it talks about how Andy is grown up and doesn't have time to play with his toys any more.  I read it to Jaxon for the first time tonight and when I read that part he looked at me with sad eyes and a quivering lip and said, "When I grow up to in a man, I still want to play with my toys."  It was so cute.  I told him that he could and it was okay.  He believed me and wanted me to read the rest of the story.  I love my sweet Jaxon!

Valentine Date

Tonight the boys are spending the night at Nana and Papa's house so Devin and I can go on our Valentine's Day date.  We are very excited!  We get reservations at The Deli, which is fabulous!  We've only been there once, but we were SO impressed!  I am really looking forward to some yummy food I do not have to plan, prepare, or cleanup!

Then, we might stop by the ward party to see our friends there, and then come home and watch a Redbox movie.  Or, we might go to a movie.  I can't decide which one though.  It's a toss up between When in Rome or Valentine's Day.  Any suggestions?

And, maybe if Devin's lucky, I'll put something pretty on when we get home...

Update:  The dinner was DELICIOUS!  I'm telling you...go to The Deli.  You won't be sorry!

We didn't end up going to a movie.  We went to Borders book store and browsed around.  That's one of our favorite things to do.  Someday, I'm going to have a book published.

Then, we did some grocery shopping late at night like we used to do after our night classes when we were first married and lived in St. George.  We like doing that together.  We like doing pretty much everything together though.  :)

Movie Recommendations

17 Again
LOVED it!  It stars my crush, Zac Efron, and it's SO funny!  I didn't know I'd be laughing so much.

Yes Man
I really liked it.  It's very funny and makes you take a look at your own life and consider, "Am I really living?"  You know, like, "Am I taking opportunities and allowing yourself to have fun experiences?"

One girl said something like,  "The world is a playground.  Adults forget somewhere along the way."  I like that.

Though, there was one scene we were warned about so we skipped it.  It's with an old lady--if you see it you'll know.

Twilight

I finally saw it!  I figure by now all the die hard fans have seen it too, so I won't hold back on my review...

I LOVED it!  At first I wasn't convinced they had a good pick for Edward, but he played it really well.  Except, before the part when Bella told him that she knew he was a vampire, he was all rigid all the time and I guess that's how he is supposed to be since it's so hard for him to be around her, but I guess I didn't picture him being so weird looking when I read it.  Does that even make sense?

My brother told me about a review he heard on the radio that said, "You've never seen NOT having sex so HOT before."  I thought their chemistry was good, but nothing super hot.  The kiss was pretty hot though.  But it was silly when he flew across the room and into the wall to stop himself...I don't remember that happening...did it?

My favorite part was the baseball scene, which my brother pointed out was probably due to the awesome song they picked for it (search "supermassive black hole twilight" on YouTube).  It was just so fun to watch and imagine if we could really play baseball like that.  How cool would that be?

My other favorite scene was when Edward drove Bella to school.  When they got out he just looked so cocky with this big goofy smile on his face like he was thinking, "Yep, I've got a girlfriend and she's hot and I'm hot and you are all jealous!"  I just loved it!  It was funny and cute and not really how I pictured it in the book, but better!  haha!  Then it got even better when she said, "Everyone's staring at us."  He said, "No, not that guy.  Oh, nevermind, he just looked."  Oh, I love a good cheesy romance!

I think Jacob is pretty, but needs to cut his hair.  Jasper was a little silly looking, like his eyes were gonna pop out, but I thought he was cute.  Charile was good.  I think they should have left in the parts about how Bella always cooked for him.  Instead, they were always at that diner.  Alice looks a little older to me.  Devin thinks she's really pretty.  I think that's about it...

HSM

High School Musical 3 came out today and no, I didn't go see it (though I wish I did!)...but yes, Devin and I just got done watching both High School Musical 1 & 2. We were just gonna watch the first one, but when it was over I wanted to watch the second! I love those movies! They're so fun. They make me wish life could always be as fun as a giant musical:) Plus, Troy is a cutie!

Raves

I have 2 things I just want to rave about: The movie Get Smart & The Dyson vacuum...

First...the movie was so funny! I really liked it. Steve Carell has so many 1 liners that are just hillarious! One of my favorites: "I used to look like 2 of my moms put together." Devin and I were laughing so hard at so many parts! I didn't see many previews, so most of the scenes were a new to me, but I heard if you've seen a lot of the previews, it's not very fun to watch it because a lot of it is spoiled.

Second...wow! The Dyson is amazing! Our vacuum broke so we barrowed our friend's Dyson. I swear that thing was sucking up dirt through the foundation! I just went over and over the same spots and it kept picking up dust! We bought our house brand new and I have vacuumed once a week since we moved it, but our vacuum must just be junk becuase the Dyson picked up so much more! So...now I just need to save up $400 to buy one! (Hooray they come in pink!) Anyone wanna donate to my Dyson fund?

Kids-in-mind.com

My uncle sent this to me and I wanted to pass on the info:

http://www.kids-in-mind.com

It provides parents and other adults with objective and complete information about a film's content so that they can decide, based on their own value system, whether they should watch a movie with or without their kids (or even at all). It's like a food labeling system which tells you what a food item contains. It is the only reliable, content-based alternative to the confusing MPAA movie ratings and I highly recommend it.
