Sewing Stockings

I decided to make stockings this year.
Daddy, Mommy, Jaxon, Henry, and Oliver!

I have one more sewing project to finish before the baby comes.  I started all of these because I wanted some projects to keep me busy during these last months of pregnancy.  It worked!

Car Seat Cover

Oliver isn't going to own very many new things since he's got 2 older brothers.  But, I wanted to make the car seat look new for him.  So, I decided to recover it.  I found a tutorial online that helped a little, but basically I had to make my own pattern and figure it out myself.  It was a serious project!  But, I love the way it came out!  The fabric is so cute with turquoise and brown paisleys.

I didn't really think these covers were necessary, but then I heard someone talking about how the greeter at Walmart tried touching their newborn in the car seat and that convinced me having a cover was a good idea.

Dragonfly

Mommy and Jaxon did a fun project on Sunday afternoon.  I saw this idea at Michael's.  It looked easy and fast and we only needed a few supplies so I thought it would be just the right kind of activity to do with my little guy.  I was right.  He loved making them!
I only had directions for the dragonflies, but Jaxon wanted to make a caterpillar and a butterfly too so we improvised on those.
(Notice Henry's cereal bowl in the background.  That kid would live on cereal if we let him!)

Job

For family night yesterday we read the story of Job.  When Devin showed Jaxon the picture of Job with boils, Jaxon pointed to me and said, "He has owies like you, mommy."  "What?" Devin asked, concerned.  "You know.  Like those on your face.  What are they called?"  "Pimples" I told him.  My skin goes a little crazy with the hormones at the beginning of my pregnancies, but by about half way, it clears up.  Currently, I only have one blemish.  I'm not very excited that my sweet little son thinks I am covered in boil-like owies, but, I had to laugh!

Kids say the darndest things!

Oh, and I'm going to make these Halloween decorations with the boys.  I think they will love them!  But, here is a cuter picture of them.

I have been in the mood for doing projects so I'm going to make one of these car seat tents and one of these car seat covers for the new baby.

Painting Pumpkins

Henry was curios about the abnormality on this peach.  You can probably guess what he called it.
A Sunday afternoon painting project:  making Halloween decorations.
Henry used about every color on his pumpkin.

Henry's room

Well, for those who didn't know, we officially picked a name for the new baby. He'll be named Henry Devin Miller. Why? Because we like it, and Devin, of course, after his daddy. I don't know what we'll do if we have another boy because finding a 2nd boy name we agree on was tough, I don't know about settling on a 3rd!

Anyway, we've had a lot of different feedback..."It's too old," "I don't like it," "I'll call him Hank," which please don't! I know the nickname for Henry is Hank, but I don't like it! Also, we've heard stuff like, "I love it!" and "It's so cute!" So, it's not one that everyone loves, but that's okay and I'm sure everyone will love HIM:)

Anyway...I've didn't really decorate the nursery for Jaxon, so this time I wanted to go all out! I already posted pictures of the bedding, so here are some new projects I just finished:

Here is his name...the color is pretty off in the picture...but it's really cute, I promise! You can see the true color of the green wall in the pics below.

Here are some frames where I got scrapbook paper that matched the bedding and colors of the room and covered the mats inside picture frames...

Sideways...

This is a close up of the one above. It says, "oh boy."

I can't wait to be able to fill these frames with pictures of our sweet baby!

I just have to paint the trim and the nursery will be done!

PS...Thanks for the ideas and help Joy!
