Running is totally my stress release.
Last Thursday and I hadn't been out of the house since the Sunday before. I had my 2 kids, of course, 3 daycare kids, plus Jeni. I was pretty overwhelmed when 5:45 rolled around and I was expecting the kids to be picked up. It's a hard time for them to leave because I feed my kids dinner at 5:00, do baths at 6:00, and they go to bed at 7:00. The daycare kids' parents want them to eat dinner at home, which is fine with me, but it's always a little awkward when I feed my kids, so I usually feed the day care kids too. So, after a long busy day and dinner, I was really ready for the kids to leave at 5:45 like their parents said. They weren't picked up until 6:00. Every minute after the time the parents say they will arrive seems like an hour to me. I don't mind watching them at all, but when the time comes that the parents said they would pick up the kids, I expect them to leave.
So, when the parents did arrive, I saw something that made me upset and I just had to get out of the house. All I could think about was how much I wanted to go for a run. Luckily Devin was already home, so as soon as the kids were picked up, I got my running clothes on and left. I ran about 3 1/2 miles and loved every moment. My lungs felt so good, but my left knee and right hip were hurting. I didn't care. I just kept going because I needed that time to myself.
I absolutely love running.

Ugh! thats so lame! I'm sorry about that! You are a better woman than I, With two kids I can't get anything done. One runs everywhere and the other one wants to be held constantly, and you tend! go you!
yes, running is absolutely the best stress relief ever.
i sometimes take care of other kids and it is such a hard job, so i understand how frustrating it is when parents don't pick up their kids at the time they said, seriously it's just rude!
I started running last year but I definitely don't love it yet. I'm like the little engine that could telling myself 'I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.' It's pretty sad.
I'm a little late but I'm your newest follower from Friday Follow.

I was a daycare provider a few years ago and I felt the same way! Every minute seems like an hour when the parents are late. Pickup your kid!! :o) I also run too. Love it.
i feel your pain.... literally. =) Who would've thought that pounding pavement would be such a great release!
